My First Attempt at Oxidizing Silver

Here are the results of my first attempt at oxidizing sterling silver earrings with liver of sulfur. The process was easier and went much smoother than expected. I had purchased liver of sulfur over a year ago and just never took the time to experiment, because I thought the process would be complicated. I absolutely love the steel gray tone of the oxidized silver, and can't wait to create more jewelry!

Bracelets, Bracelets, Bracelets!

I feel like I have been really behind in making bracelets, so I spent the last few days on a bracelet-making frenzy! I got a total of 10 bracelets completed, photographed and listed. If I do say so myself, I think they turned out really nice. Here are a few examples:

This bracelet is created with swirl-cut smoky quartz beads, crystals and freshwater pearls. I also created one, similar in design, using bronzite and gold vermeil beads.

You just can't go wrong with Bali silver! This is one of two Bali silver bracelets that I have created. Both feature ornate handmade Bali silver beads with adjustable toggle clasps.

This colorful Swarovski crystal bracelet is accented with gold vermeil beads and sterling silver twisted rings. I completed two other multi-crystal bracelets, which both feature Bali silver. Other new bracelets include an Amethyst and Keishi Pearl Bracelet and a Crystal Quartz and Bali Silver Bracelet. Visit our website, http://www.myraelizabeth.com/, to see all of our new designs!

My Brother's Wedding

Miracle of miracles, my older brother, Aaron, who will be turning 50 in December (he'll love that I'm posting that), got married for the first time on October 4th. His new wife and my new sister-in-law, Deann, is a wonderful person who has truly brought added love, happiness, warmth and light to our family.

I had the honor of designing her wedding jewelry for her. I created a Teardrop Swarovski Crystal and Pearl Necklace, Crystal and Pearl Cascade Earrings and a Crystal and Pearl Tiara Comb to match.

The wedding was held at The Stanley House, a historic bed and breakfast inn located in downtown Marietta, which is full of charm and character.

"Count Me In"

I am proud to be a participant in the fundraiser for "Count Me In". Count Me In is a non-profit organization, created to further educate and provide resources for women entrepreneurs. To learn more, please visit their website, http://www.countmein.org/.

Through December, 50% of the proceeds from the sale of our "Count Me In" Crystal Infinity Necklaces goes to benefit this organization. The necklaces are created with Swarovski crystals hand-wrapped around a sterling silver ring, and are available in two sizes, ranging in price from $42 to $52.

New! Bridal Hair Combs

I recently completed a custom order for a bride and her bridesmaids, who was absolutely wonderful to work with. She insisted I make a bridal hair comb to complement the freshwater pearl and crystal chandelier earrings I had made for her. So, I decided to give it a go! Here is the design she decided on:

She wanted a simple design that didn't look too much like a tiara. I can't wait to see her wedding photos! This past week, I also made one for my future sister-in-law, that has more of a "tiara" look to it:

My goal is to have a number of different designs created and on my website, by the beginning of November. In the meantime, if you need one custom made, just let me know!

Recent Custom Bridal Designs

I have recently been working on a number of custom bridal designs, that I wanted to highlight. The earrings shown below are a new luxurious bridal chandelier design which is created with Swarovski crystals and freshwaters pearls:

I created a beautiful beaded bracelet to coordinate with the earrings, designed with lots of freshwater pearl and crystal clusters between larger crystal beads.

Next, I'll cover my foray into the world of beaded bridal combs!

Myra Elizabeth Jewelry Featured in "Bead Trends" Magazine

We are so excited to have many of our jewelry designs featured in the current issue of "Bead Trends" magazine. Here are a few of my favorites:

Teal Crystal Earrings with Hammered Rings

I just love these earrings! A cascade of Swarovski crystals in shades of brown, champagne, olive green and teal accent gold-filled hammered rings and rich teal blue graphic crystals.

Champagne Crystal Cluster Necklace

Another crystal design, this necklace begins with beautiful golden shadow (champagne) briolettes. Clusters of colorful crystal bicones, which include sapphire blue, olive green, topaz and amethyst, provide a wonderful "WOW" factor.

Smoky Quartz and Garnet Set

Perfect to accent your fall wardrobe, the necklace features a waterfall of garnet and smoky quartz briolettes accented with fancy gold vermeil beads. The bracelet is an elegant beaded creation made up of lots of yummy gemstones, and the earrings feature a cascade of gems and gold vermeil beads.

Designs are currently available at both Myra Elizabeth Jewelry Designs and my Myra Elizabeth boutique on Etsy.
